ITD-RT Joint Venture is seeking to bid for the State Railways of Thailand (SRT) Construction of Track Doubling Project for Northeastern Line Map Kabao – Thanin Chira Junction.

 

ITD-RT Joint Venture appointed International Engineering Consultants (IEC) and Amberg Engineering (Amberg) to provide design services for Part II Design and Build Works Item 7 Tunneling Works.

 

The construction of Track Doubling Project for Northeastern Line Map Kabao – Thanin Chira Junction comprises the construction of three tunnels. The tunnels are located in the central and the north-eastern part of Thailand.

 

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

The Part II Design and Built Works Item 7 Tunneling Works broadly comprises:

DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:

The project situates on the grounds of the Suvarnabhumi Airport (SA) in the province of Samut Prakan province, about 30 km east of Bangkok.  SA has air traffic 50 flights per hour, such capacity reduction had resulted in severe impacts on airport operations including flight disruptions, increased fuel costs, passenger inconvenience and travel delays, all of which eroded the service image of SA.

 

Given the need to maintain the runways and their associated facilities in good working order, plus the necessity to cater for ever increasing air traffic volumes, it is imperative that SA expedite the implementation of the planned 4,000 m-long 3rd Runway to help handle anticipated air traffic increase.

 

The projects cover the following tasks: survey and design of the 3rd runway, parallel taxiway, taxiways, and perimeter taxiways, ground improvement work for the apron of the 2nd midfield satellite (SAT-2 Apron), extension of existing taxiway B, and design of aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) building and associated facilities.

DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:

The Mass Rapid Transit Authority (MRTA) is implementing the MRT Orange Line (East) Project. The Orange Line (East0 will connect the existing Blue Line Thailand Cultural Centre station to Suwinthawong district in east Bangkok.

 

Contract E3 involves the design and construction of approximately 4 km long twin bore tunnels from Lam Sali intersection to Khlong Ban Ma with three underground stations, three ventilation shafts and a cut and cover tunnels as a transition structure to connect our underground section to the elevated section of Contract E4.

 

The MRTA has awarded Contract E3 to Italian-Thai Development PCL (ITD) and, ITD has engaged Ove Arup and Partners International Limited (Arup) as the Designer for Contract E3. Arup has engaged International Engineering Consultants Co., Ltd. (IEC) as the Sub-Designer to design Khlong Bridge Underpinning.
