DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:

ITD-RT Joint Venture is seeking to bid for the State Railways of Thailand (SRT) Construction of Track Doubling Project for Northeastern Line Map Kabao – Thanin Chira Junction.

ITD-RT Joint Venture appointed International Engineering Consultants (IEC) and Amberg Engineering (Amberg) to provide design services for Part II Design and Build Works Item 7 Tunneling Works.

The construction of Track Doubling Project for Northeastern Line Map Kabao – Thanin Chira Junction comprises the construction of three tunnels. The tunnels are located in the central and the north-eastern part of Thailand.

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

The Part II Design and Built Works Item 7 Tunneling Works broadly comprises:

• Portal slopes excavation and initial tunnel drive excavation
• Main tunnels excavation and support
• Cross passages excavation and support
• Special works associated with tunneling e.g. consolidation grouting etc.
• Cut and cover excavation
• Mechanical and Electrical works associated with tunnel operation (not future traction provisions)
• Ventilation works

KEY FACTORS:

• Geotechnical and structural design of tunnel, portal slope excavation, main tunneling excavation and support, cross passage excavation and support, and ventilation works.
