DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:

According to the rapid growth rate of Chiengmai province and in order the serve the future traffic demand, the infrastructure system of province is concerned. Underpass is one of the most well-known methods to deal with the future traffic congestion. Jirathep partnership limited was awards to be contractor. The work involved to deep excavation, thus safety and movement of retaining structure are therefore a major concern both of during construction and long term period. The installation and monitoring work of geotechnical instrumentation were required and carefully monitoring. The monitoring data is used to assess the effects of construction and to avoid the possible damage due to ground movement.

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

• Supplied and installed the following instruments: - Inclinometer to monitor magnitude and rate of ground movement in lateral direction

• Standpipe Piezometer to assess the insitu pore pressure distribution

• Observation well to monitor ground water level.

• Monitoring work and interpretation report

• Monitoring work and interpretation report

• Impact assessment due to construction work

KEY FACTORS:

• The data is used to verify the design assumptions and to check that performance is as predicted

• The monitoring results are assessed how the construction can proceed without risk of failure and perform proper function in long term period.
